Cae Mawr - Idyllic Holiday Cottage in the Dyfi Valley

Cae Mawr has an idyllic setting overlooking the Dyfi estuary offering views down to the sea at Aberdyfi and up to the Snowdonia hills towards Cader Idris. It is a stunning Grade II listed whitewashed cottage making the perfect base for a memorable holiday.

Cae Mawr is secluded but only 300 yards above the A487 linking the seaside university town of Aberystwyth and the charming market town of Machynlleth.

It is a short drive to the two towns and to the beaches and sand dunes at Borth and Ynyslas. The RSPB bird reserve at Ynyshir and the Dyfi Osprey Project are 1.5 and 3 miles away respectively. Easy access to the Wales Coast Path is just 100 yards behind Cae Mawr.

Cae Mawr sleeps five in three bedrooms, one king size, one twin and one single.

Reviews

"What a wonderful cottage and location. We have had a fantastic time (myself, husband, son and mother-in-law). So much to do - the boys went mountain biking and we walked some of the Wales coastal path behind the cottage." October 2017

"Absolute bliss. We were exceptionally fortunate with the weather and had some great days out. Thank you for the wonderful accommodation. So relaxing just to be here!" August 2017

"Another lovely week at the cottage. It was great to see the ospreys and to revisit local birding spots. Had a fantastic sighting of a hare grazing for nearly an hour in the garden." July 2017

"A lovely stay again. The change in the views from day to day, sometimes moment to moment, were fantastic." May 2017

"From the moment we arrived we felt at home and the cottage is probably the best equipped for cooking we have experienced. The surrounding area is amazing. We were able to watch birds, bats and squirrels whilst eating lunch and dinner outside on the terrace. The RSPB reserve provided much more than we expected." September 2016
